Intel’s OCTO & SATG Strategic Initiatives team leads organic and inorganic investment priorities, transformation programs, and collaborations accelerating our strategy, reporting into Intel’s CTO & EVP, GM SATG and partnering closely with our OCTO & SATG leadership team, as well as other groups across Intel.  We help enable the ideation, planning, execution, and implementation of key initiatives – spanning strategy support, growth investments, strategic collaborations, and transformation opportunities. 

 

The Strategic Initiatives Interns will report into our Director of Strategic Initiatives.  The Intern will be a critical member of our team — supporting group-wide execution and implementation of initiatives advancing our organic and inorganic priorities, realizing our strategic objectives. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Actively support insights gathering on external landscape activity, market categories and risks 
  • Support efforts to conceive and plan for strategic direction and execution alternatives to achieve our goals 
  • Structure complex problems, develop hypotheses, conduct analyses and suggest recommendations through a data-driven process 
  • Collect and analyze large datasets and summarize insights  
  • Develop compelling recommendations, communicated in high-quality output  
  • Support teams to identify opportunities, unlock productivity and accelerate execution  
  • Analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction from market data, and creates compelling market analysis presentations 

 

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following traits: 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, collaboratively charting a path forward to drive towards desired outcomes 
  • Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills with fluency relating to the drivers of executive decision making 
  • Familiarity with strategic business development, venture investments, transformation activities, and inorganic projects including M&A is a plus

  • Industry knowledge relating to software and advanced technology sectors, as well as key players across our ecosystems

Qualifications:

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

 

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Masters or MBA degree
  • Prior work experience in an analytical or strategic role, or equivalent related experience with a focus on software and advanced technology domains
  • Very strong understanding of business strategies and drivers
  • Additional experiences may include: management consulting, strategy and operations, product management, venture capital, corporate development, investment banking, and private equity
