Responsibilities:
- Design and implement experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and independently conduct scientific research to identify and validate targets and determine their mechanism of action.
- Establish critical laboratory capabilities for design and implementation of studies.
- Close collaboration within the R&D team to achieve project objectives.
- Detailed documentation and presentation of protocols and data.
Required Qualifications:
- M.S./PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise to develop disease relevant in-vitro assays for metabolic conditions using cell lines, primary cells, and animal models.
- Proficiency in cell culture techniques, including primary cell isolation, cell line maintenance, and culture.
- Strong molecular biology skills, including qPCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and gene editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9).
- Experience with genetic engineering and cellular payload delivery including transduction and transfection is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and impeccable organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to excel in a team-first, supportive work environment, and clearly articulate ideas, problems, and solutions.
- Ability to thrive in early stage technology development with demanding schedules and deliverables.
