At Live Nation our fans use our sites and apps powering one of the world's top ecommerce sites.  Our events can sell out in seconds, and we leverage our data to reach and connect fans to the events they love.  As a member of the engineering team, you will work on our Automated Fan Engagement and Targeting Engine creating personalized fan experiences. You will focus on improving Live Nation’s customer acquisition capabilities, amplifying our voice and enabling timely, personalized communication with fans. Your work will increase millions of fans’ awareness of live events, providing them with opportunities they otherwise would have missed.


THE ROLE


We are looking for software and machine learning graduate students to leverage and explore methods and algorithms to help connect fans to the live events they crave and remember.  You are an individual with a strong curiosity about data and leveraging it to connect to fans. You are excited to work on large data sets and summarize them using a broad range of algorithms and computational approaches. 


You will be working with some of the most exciting data, tools, frameworks like Spark, Scikit Learn, Pandas, and AWS just to name a few, and be a key contributor to Live Nation’s large-scale collaborative filtering system and marketing platform.


WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • We have a variety of teams and problems where you can work and learn
  • Be part of a dynamic, highly-focused team that is responsible for providing machine-learning insights and products that engage Live Nation’s 170+MM users
  • Research and evaluate the effectiveness of various tech tools
  • Work with Recommendations, Analytics, Marketing Automation and SEO Team members to create tools to analyze audiences, website content, conversion, search keywords and their relationships

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Must be currently a Masters or PhD student
  • Coursework and/or professional experience with a high-level programming language like: Python and/or Java
  • Coursework and/or previous experience with data analysis and SQL languages a plus (some projects may require it)
  • Machine learning coursework a plus
  • Experience with state-of-the-art machine learning tool kits and algorithms
  • Interest and the desire to learn
  • Effective communication skills and enjoying work as part of a team
